The open-source AI agent from Nous Research. You use it from its web panel, from the terminal or from Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp or Signal.
Hermes keeps what it learns from your conversations and searches past sessions to recover context. That memory is stored on your server.
After a complex task it can create a skill to repeat it and refines it as it goes. It is compatible with the open skills standard at agentskills.io.
It includes a task scheduler: daily reports, weekly backups or audits, described in plain language and delivered to the channel you choose. On a VPS they run even when you are offline.
It works with Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI or a compatible endpoint, and you switch models with one command. It is open source under the MIT licence and the VPS does not need a GPU.
You choose a plan and location, pay, and the server arrives with Hermes Agent installed. The login details reach you by email and in your panel.
Frankfurt for Europe or Miami for the Americas, at the same price. You can move up a plan later without reinstalling.
After payment the server is deployed with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. There is no operating system to pick: the plan already includes Hermes Agent.
It takes a few minutes and leaves Hermes Agent served over HTTPS on an address of your own server.
The address, username and password arrive by email and show in the server panel. With the Hermes commands you pick the model provider and the channels.
