There are two ways to run a FiveM server: a VPS, where you install FXServer yourself and control everything, or a managed FiveM server, which arrives with txAdmin set up and running. The VPS starts at €4.99/mo on a Ryzen 9 7950X, as a Frankfurt VPS or a Miami VPS, with unlimited traffic and anti-DDoS included; the managed one, at €5.99/mo. If you know your way around Linux and want several things on the same machine, go VPS. If you want to be playing this afternoon, go managed.

What decides your choice

FiveM is about CPU, not core count

FXServer mostly runs on a single thread, so what your server feels is per-core power, not how many cores you have. That is why every VPS runs a Ryzen 9 7950X with DDR5 instead of handing out lots of slow cores.

What a VPS really means

With root access you install FXServer, your database and txAdmin exactly how you want, and you can run the roleplay server, the community website and the Discord bot on the same machine. In exchange, maintenance is on you: updates, backups and security.

Frankfurt or Miami, depending on your players

If your community is Spanish or European, Frankfurt. If it is Latin American, Miami: same hardware and same price, but ping changes a lot. You pick the location when you order.

ESX, QBCore and the database

Roleplay frameworks need MySQL or MariaDB alongside. On a VPS you install and tune it yourself, with no limit on databases or users; on the managed plan the databases come set per plan.

What VPS do I need for a FiveM server?
It depends on how much you plan to run. To start with a framework like ESX or QBCore and a handful of scripts, the VPS 3 with 6 GB of RAM (€12.99/mo) is plenty. For a community with heavy MLOs and a complex economy, the VPS 5 with 12 GB (€24.99/mo) gives you room. Every plan runs the same Ryzen 9 7950X, so what you are choosing is RAM and disk, not CPU power.
How much RAM does FiveM need?
FXServer on its own does not use much; what eats RAM are the scripts, the framework and the database. A small roleplay server runs fine on 6 GB, and beyond that RAM is driven by what you install, not by player count.
Is a VPS or a managed FiveM server better?
Neither is better: they are two different approaches. A VPS gives you full control and several services on one machine, but maintenance is yours. The managed one arrives with FXServer and txAdmin ready and you forget about the systems side. First server? Managed. Know what you are doing? VPS.
Can I install txAdmin on the VPS?
Yes, txAdmin ships with FXServer and you run it on whatever port you want. With root access there is no limitation: it is your machine.
Where should I host if my community is in Latin America?
Miami. We run the same hardware at the same price in Frankfurt and Miami, so for players in Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina or Chile the ping difference against Europe is large and it costs no extra.
Does the VPS include DDoS protection?
Yes, on every plan and at no extra cost, same as unlimited traffic and the IPv4. There are no paid add-ons for that.
Can I run ESX or QBCore?
Yes. With root access you install whichever framework you want alongside MySQL or MariaDB, with no database limit. That is exactly what you cannot do as freely from a game panel.
Can I try it before paying?
The free 24-hour trial is available for the managed FiveM server and you request it by opening a ticket; VPS plans have no trial right now. What you can do is join our sample servers to measure ping and performance before deciding.
Can I move from a managed server to a VPS later?
Yes. Plenty of people start on the managed plan and move to a VPS once the community grows and they want more control. Support will help you with the migration.
Which operating system works best for FiveM?
Linux, usually Debian or Ubuntu, which is what FXServer runs on with the lowest overhead. You can also install Windows Server if you are more comfortable with a desktop environment, though it uses more resources.
