Your application is delivered on an HTTPS address of its own, like 37-114-51-188.astrolnodes.app. What it is, what it is for and when to switch to your domain.

When you order a VPS with an application you do not need a domain: your application is delivered on an HTTPS address of its own, like:

https://37-114-51-188.astrolnodes.app

It is your VPS IP with dashes instead of dots, followed by astrolnodes.app. It is included in your plan, at no cost and with nothing for you to configure.

What it is for

  • Opening your application from the first minute, with a valid HTTPS certificate: the browser shows no warnings.
  • Receiving webhooks and connecting external services that require an HTTPS URL, such as n8n integrations.
  • Using it permanently if you do not need another one: it is your server's address for as long as you keep the service.

Worth knowing

  • Always use the name, not the IP. The certificate is for 37-114-51-188.astrolnodes.app; if you type https://37.114.51.188 the browser will show a warning.
  • It depends on your VPS IP. If you reinstall the application, the address stays the same. If your server ever changes IP (for example, when moving it to another location), the address changes with it.
  • It is a technical address. For an internal or personal tool it is perfect. If customers will see your application or you want it tied to your brand, use your domain.

Use your own domain

You can serve your application on your domain whenever you want, with automatic HTTPS. The astrolnodes.app address keeps working to sign in and, in n8n, redirects to your domain. The steps depend on the application:
