The right region is what lowers ping the most. More tips here.
Ping depends mostly on the distance between your players and the node. Server lag (low TPS) depends on the load.
To lower ping
- Pick the region closest to your community. From Spain, our Frankfurt nodes give 30–45 ms (measured from Madrid and Barcelona).
- If your community plays from the Americas, use Miami.
- On the wrong region and seeing high ping? Request a location change in a ticket.
To reduce lag (TPS)
- Too many heavy mods/plugins drop TPS: review what you run.
- Watch very large loaded chunks, entities and farms.
- Keep your version and mods up to date.
All our nodes use AMD Ryzen 9, DDR5 and NVMe, so with a reasonable setup the server runs smooth. If something still feels off, message us and we'll look into it.
If the real problem is running out of RAM (crashes with many players or a heavy modpack), the fix is to upgrade your plan.
