FiveM server location: Frankfurt or Miami? Latency measured from 29 cities (2026)

The location of a FiveM server sets the latency of every player who joins it. On a roleplay server latency shows up as delayed vehicle positions, late hit registration and voice that drifts from the action, and no amount of CPU or RAM corrects it. The useful question is therefore not which location is faster in general, but which one is closer to the people who will play.

Astrol Nodes hosts FiveM servers in two locations: Frankfurt (Germany) and Miami (United States). This article publishes the latency we measured from 29 cities to both, so a community can choose with numbers instead of assumptions.

How the latency was measured

The figures were measured on 5 October 2026 with Globalping, a public network of probes run from datacenter and internet provider networks. Each city was measured in two rounds of up to eight networks. "Best" is the fastest network in the city and "median" the typical one. The targets were our nodes in Frankfurt and Miami, the same two endpoints the FiveM checkout uses to measure ping before an order. A home connection can add a few milliseconds to these values.

Latency to Frankfurt from Europe

City Best (ms) Median (ms)
Amsterdam 7 8
Berlin 8 15
Milan 9 10
Paris 10 10
London 16 18
Warsaw 17 20
Barcelona 21 29
Stockholm 24 25
Madrid 27 32
Lisbon 39 48

Latency to Miami from the United States and Canada

City Best (ms) Median (ms)
Atlanta 14 14
New York 26 34
Dallas 28 33
Chicago 31 32
Toronto 42 48
Denver 43 56
Phoenix 50 54
Los Angeles 55 61
Seattle 70 78

Latency to Miami from Latin America

City Best (ms) Median (ms)
Panama City 33 52
Caracas 34 34
Bogotá 38 48
Guatemala City 46 46
Quito 58 63
Mexico City 59 59
Lima 64 70
Santiago 92 100
São Paulo 105 108
Buenos Aires 128 128

The same American cities measured to Frankfurt

Five of the American cities were also measured to Frankfurt, which shows the cost of hosting an American community in Europe.

City Frankfurt, best (ms) Miami, best (ms)
New York 81 26
Atlanta 101 14
Caracas 130 34
Mexico City 139 59
Bogotá 155 38

How to choose the location

  • Community in Spain or the rest of Europe: Frankfurt. Madrid measured 27 ms and Barcelona 21 ms, and every European city in the table was below 40 ms on its fastest network.
  • Community in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador or Peru: Miami. These cities measured between 33 and 64 ms to Miami. Caracas, Mexico City and Bogotá, the three also measured to Frankfurt, were between 80 and 117 ms faster in Miami.
  • Community in the United States: Miami. Atlanta, New York, Dallas and Chicago measured below 35 ms; Los Angeles measured 55 ms and Seattle 70 ms.
  • Community in Chile, Argentina or Brazil: Miami measured 92 ms from Santiago, 105 ms from São Paulo and 128 ms from Buenos Aires. These cities were not measured to Frankfurt.
  • Mixed community, for example Spain and Mexico: one location will always favour one side. The usual choice is the location of the majority of active players, accepting that the other group plays at the latency shown in the table above.

What the location does not change

Game servers in both locations run on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors with NVMe storage, include DDoS protection and have the same price. Choosing Miami or Frankfurt changes only the distance to the players.

To check the latency from a specific connection, the FiveM checkout measures the ping from the visitor's browser to both locations before the order is placed.
